The senior accountant is responsible for overseeing the financial activities of a company and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Their duties include preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, managing accounting operations, budgeting, preparing tax returns, and coordinating with auditors. They also provide guidance on financial decisions. Additionally, the senior accountant is involved in strategic financial planning and forecasting to help the company achieve its financial goals.
Results expectation/functional activities:
- Responsible for financial reporting and analysis: the senior accountant is responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and other reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Responsible for preparing tax and non-tax statements. This includes gathering financial data, analyzing and interpreting financial information, determining tax liabilities, calculating deductions and credits, and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations: the senior accountant must stay up-to-date on accounting standards and regulations.
- Performing financial analysis: the senior accountant is responsible for analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights to help guide decision-making within the organization.
- Responsible for the daily administration, processing of purchase invoices and bank payments.
- Participating in audits: the senior accountant is involved in both internal and external audits, working with auditors to provide documentation and explanations of financial records.
- Collaborating with other departments: the senior accountant works closely with other departments, such as finance, operations, and human resources, to ensure financial data is accurate and support decision-making processes.
Education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of work experience in a similar position.
- Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, financial analysis, and auditing.
- Good knowledge of US-GAAP and SOX is preferred.
- Good command of the Czech and English languages (oral + written)
